Iran condemns Israeli strikes on Yemen’s civilian infrastructure and labels the US as a ‘partner in crime’

Iran has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's airstrikes, which resulted in the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Yemen. Tehran has accused the Israeli government in Tel Aviv of carrying out these acts with the full support of the United States, which it described as "unconditional."

During a press briefing on Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, condemned recent Israeli strikes targeting two power stations near Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, along with the Hudaydah port and the Ras Isa oil facility. Baghaei asserted that these actions represent a clear breach of international law and contravene the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter.

He claimed that the Zionist regime is engaging in criminal activities with the unwavering backing of the United States, thereby implicating Washington in the violations and atrocities committed by the governing authorities in Tel Aviv.

Baghaei has commended Yemen’s efforts in standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people during the ongoing Israeli conflict, characterized by significant casualties. Since the escalation began on October 7, 2023, the situation in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 45,097 individuals and left 107,244 others injured.

He reiterated the call for the international community and the Muslim world to fulfill their legal and moral obligations by intervening to halt Israeli aggression and holding the regime’s officials accountable for invasions and alleged war crimes.

The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement strongly denounced the recent Israeli airstrikes in Yemen, describing them as a continuation of aggression that also targets Gaza, Syria, and the broader region.

In an official statement, it was declared that adversarial criminal elements will not succeed in undermining the spirit of our citizens or the resilience of individuals within the region.

“This action will neither weaken Yemen’s resolve nor shake their principled support for the Palestinian cause.”

Israeli airstrikes carried out on Thursday in Yemen resulted in the deaths of nine civilians and left three others injured.

The military forces of the regime have announced that their fighter jets have conducted airstrikes in Yemen in response to a series of missile and drone assaults targeting the occupied territories.

Since the onset of Israel’s military operations targeting Gaza, Yemeni forces have actively engaged in activities aimed at expressing solidarity with the Palestinian population.

Reports indicate that strikes have been conducted across the occupied territories, alongside attacks on Israeli ships or vessels navigating to and from Israeli ports. These incidents have occurred in the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and extended into the Arabian Sea.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intent to persist in operations against Israel until the regime ceases its military offensive in Gaza.
