Iran FM terrorists miscalculated their actions in Syria

Iran's Foreign Minister stated that the Takfiri terrorist groups in Syria have miscalculated with their current offensive against the Arab nation's military forces.

Abbas Araghchi delivered his comments to reporters on Sunday evening following his arrival in Ankara, Turkey, after concluding a diplomatic visit to Syria.

According to the official, terrorist organizations perceive the recent Israeli military actions against Lebanon and Palestine as a strategic opening to further their objectives within Syria.

Araghchi emphasized that the Syrian military and government possess the capability to overcome terrorist forces, though Iran, along with resistance groups, stands ready to provide essential assistance if required.

The Foreign Minister announced plans for an in-depth meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, aimed at addressing the shared concerns between the two nations.

Iran’s Foreign Minister voiced optimism regarding potential agreements between Tehran and Ankara on regional matters. Such an understanding, he noted, could foster stability and deter Syria from evolving into a stronghold for terrorist activities.

He voiced assurance that Syria would successfully overcome terrorist groups once again, as it has managed to do in previous instances.

He reiterated Iran’s unequivocal backing for Syria in its efforts to confront aggression from the Israeli regime and terrorist organizations.

Prior to his departure, the Iranian Foreign Minister addressed reporters, stating that Iran perceives no difference between the Israeli government and Takfiri terrorist groups.

In a statement made earlier in Damascus, Araghchi affirmed that Tehran will steadfastly uphold its commitment to fully back the Syrian government, its people, and its military in combatting terrorism, while also working to preserve regional security and stability.

The visit occurred shortly after militant groups, spearheaded by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), initiated their most significant offensive in Syria in recent years. These groups seized control of portions of Aleppo, Syria’s second-largest city, and progressed southward toward Hama.

The Syrian military has declared that it successfully foiled extensive terrorist activities by executing a preemptive strike.
