Iran has other options if Americans sabotage JCPOA: Velayati
Iran has other options if Americans sabotage the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action reached between Iran and G5+1, Head of Center for Strategic Research Studies of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati said.
Velayati made the remarks in an interview with the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV the text of which released also in Persian on his Instagram account on Thursday.
Iran condemned coupe in Turkey from the beginning because the Islamic Republic supports legitimate governments around the world, the Iranian official said.
He noted that despite some Turkey allies support for the coup, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also condemned it.
The situation in Iraq and Syria is improving and now there are more chances for success of political talks, Velayati said, adding that government forces have dominance and the opposition armed groups are in a difficult situation.
Iran is providing Syria and Iraq advisory help at the request of these two countries’ legitimate governments, the official said.
Velayati expressed his regret about the relations between Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime, noting that Riyadh bombs Yemeni children, plot out conspiracies against Syrian government, support extremist groups including Daesh and at the same time claims to be Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
On the opposition in the United States against Iran, Velayati said that there are no difference between the Democrats and Republicans.
Both of them take positions against Islamic Republic, he said, referring to the US two main political parties.
The official noted that in case of nuclear issue, Iran’s hands are not tied up and Tehran has other options to choose in order to guarantee its interests.
