Iran issues warning regarding the perilous involvement of US and UK in the escalation of tensions with ‘israel’

Iran has issued a strong condemnation of the joint US-British airstrikes on Yemen, criticizing the military and political backing the two nations provide to Israel. Iranian officials argue that these actions demonstrate the involvement of the United States and the United Kingdom in the alleged atrocities committed by the Israeli regime.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the attacks on San’an and Sa’ada in the early hours of Thursday, describing them as a clear breach of the United Nations Charter and established international law. He emphasized that these actions undermine the prohibition on the use of force and violate the principle of respecting sovereign nations’ territorial integrity.

A spokesperson criticized the United States and the United Kingdom for what he described as their aggressive and reckless involvement in actions against Yemen’s oppressed population. He accused both nations of contributing to escalating instability and tension in the West Asian region, suggesting that their actions embolden the Israeli government to persist in its purported acts of genocide and promotion of warfare.

Baghaei commended the “honorable support” exhibited by the Yemeni people towards the oppressed Palestinian and Lebanese nations. He asserted that the US and British assaults on Yemen, along with the devastation of its vital infrastructure, would not weaken the Yemeni people’s solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements.

In a significant military development, US and British warplanes conducted airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, as well as multiple other locations within the country. The Pentagon confirmed the deployment of B-2 stealth bombers in these operations, marking the first instance of their use in airstrikes targeting Yemen.

Abul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Ansarullah resistance movement, announced on Thursday that Yemen remains steadfast in its resolve to persist with operations targeting Israel and its allies. He emphasized that recent attacks will not dissuade Yemen from supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

Yemeni citizens have publicly expressed their support for Palestine in its conflict with Israel, following the initiation of an intensive Israeli military offensive on Gaza that began on October 7, 2023.

The Yemeni military has declared its intention to persist with its assaults until the continuous Israeli ground and air operations in Gaza cease.
