Iran strongly denounces massacre of Gaza by zionist regime and calls for immediate international intervention to halt genocide

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has urgently appealed for international intervention to halt what it describes as the Israeli regime's ongoing genocidal actions in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Monday, spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei attributed the ongoing inaction of global bodies, such as the United Nations Security Council, regarding the genocide to the considerable support provided by the United States to the regime.

He condemned the inaction as “shameful,” urging the international community to take immediate action to halt the conflict and hold Israeli officials accountable for their alleged involvement in serious crimes.

A spokesperson has highlighted the issuance of arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court last month for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. These charges are related to allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

He emphasized the obligation of the states that are signatories to the court’s statute to execute the warrants, while highlighting the responsibility of all nations under international law to uphold international humanitarian law and prevent genocide.

An official has criticized the regime for ignoring the tribunal’s directives intended to halt genocide and actions in violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

He underscored the urgency for the international community to adopt effective actions to render the regime’s persistent violations “costly” and to pressure it into adhering to the rulings of the United Nations’ judicial body.

Baghaei further accused the regime of committing two additional offenses within the purview of the court’s jurisdiction: genocide and aggression.

He, in the meantime, issued a stern rebuke of the Israeli military’s ongoing aggressive assaults on tents housing Palestinian refugees in Gaza. This includes recent attacks on the Nuseirat refugee camp situated in the central region of the coastal enclave, which resulted in the death and injury of numerous innocent civilians, including children.

Since October of last year, a devastating military campaign has resulted in the deaths of approximately 45,000 individuals within the Palestinian territory, with women and children constituting 70 percent of the casualties. The regime initiated this widespread offensive following a retaliatory operation carried out by Palestinian resistance movements.
