Iran: terrorism outbreak in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon is a result of regional and western countries’ action
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said the outbreak of terrorism in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq is the result of the support given by regional and western countries to terrorist groups.
In her weekly press release held on Wednesday, Afkham said that terrorism is being used as a mechanism to suppress people, expressing concern over the use of this strategy to exert pressure on the region’s governments.
She criticized the double standards of some countries in addressing terrorism, calling for banding efforts to combat terrorism and uproot it, warning against exploiting terrorism to pressure the Iraqi government.
Afkham said fighting the terrorist organizations, including the “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria”, is the demand of all the region’s people, adding that all the region’s countries should take all necessary measures to achieve this end.
