Iran vows to back Syria in countering US-israel plot; ‘True Promise III’ is to happen for sure!
A former chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that the United States and Israel incited Takfiri extremists to invade and seize the Syrian city of Aleppo. This move, he suggests, was part of a broader strategy to extend conflict from Lebanon and Gaza into Syria.
In a live interview conducted on Sunday with the Al Jazeera news network, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, currently serving as a member of Iran’s Expediency Council, provided his insights.
He stated that the unexpected attack on Aleppo by foreign-supported insurgents on Wednesday represented a significant political blunder, breaching the 2020 ceasefire agreement established between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government and Takfiri militants.
He added that the occupation of Aleppo is viewed as a consequence of provocations by Israel and the United States, highlighting that Israel has actively contributed to regional destabilization over the past year. This destabilization has been marked by Israel’s military operations and bombings in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as recurrent airstrikes on Syrian territory.
In a statement reflective of regional tensions, authorities declared their support for Syria, labeling recent developments as an extension of ongoing conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza into Syrian territory. The declaration emphasized backing for the Syrian government and its military forces during this tumultuous period.
In response to the eruption of foreign-backed violence in Syria in 2011, Iran emerged as the first nation to offer assistance to the beleaguered country.
In 2017, Syrian forces, with the support of Iran and Russia, achieved a significant triumph over the Daesh terrorist organization.
Despite efforts to regain stability, the northern regions of the country remain under the control of militant groups and foreign occupying forces.
On Wednesday, militant groups spearheaded by Hay’at Tahrir al-Shams (HTS) launched their most significant offensive in Syria in several years, seizing portions of Aleppo and making strategic advances south towards the city of Hama.
**”Formation of a Unified Muslim Military Force”**
In his statement, Rezaei called on all Muslim nations to come together to establish a unified military force as a countermeasure against the United States and Israel. He accused both countries of consistently engaging in aggressive actions against Syria and cautioned that they are attempting to replicate these strategies in Iraq, the occupied West Bank, and Jordan.
He noted that Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran are currently united in opposition to the United States and Israel, asserting that these six countries should aim to overcome the duo, drawing parallels to the situation previously witnessed in Lebanon.
Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran has positioned itself as a leading advocate for Muslim nations in opposition to the United States and Israel.
The ex-commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) highlighted last week’s truce agreement between the Israeli occupying forces and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, which effectively concluded over 14 months of hostilities.
He stated that Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire serves as an indication of its inability to effectively engage in ground combat operations.
In a recent statement, Rezaei highlighted Israel’s growing unpopularity, describing it as potentially the most disliked regime in history. He further asserted that the legitimacy of Palestine’s cause has been increasingly recognized on the global stage.
In response to inquiries regarding whether Iran might reassess its intended anti-Israel initiative, Operation True Promise III, following the ceasefire in Lebanon and the election of U.S. President Donald Trump, Rezae affirmed that the Iranian government would take punitive action against the Israeli regime at a time and location of its choosing, emphasizing the inevitability of this retaliatory operation.
