Iran Warns of Israeli Genocidal Crimes, This Time in West Bank
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry called for the international community and the Islamic countries’ serious action to prevent a recurrence of the Zionist regime’s heinous atrocities in the West Bank.
In a statement on Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei voiced deep concern over the escalation of Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank, including at the Jenin refugee camp.
He strongly condemned the crimes being committed by the Israeli forces including arbitrary detentions and the destruction of people’s homes, the ministry’s website reported.
The spokesman referred to the repeated warnings by the UN human rights officials, including the UN special rapporteur for Palestine, about the spillover of the Israeli genocidal campaign to the West Bank during the truce in Gaza and the silence of the international community.
He also called for serious reaction of the international community, especially the Muslim and regional countries, to prevent a repetition of the heinous crimes by the Zionist occupiers in the West Bank.
Baqaei voiced regret over the UN and the Security Council’s inaction in the face of the spread of genocide to the other parts of the Palestinian territories.
He underscored the need for all governments to fulfill their legal and moral duties to put an end to the genocide and other heinous crimes under the international law.
The Iranian spokesman finally reminded the International Criminal Court and humanitarian organizations, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, of their legal and humanitarian duty vis- -vis the current unprecedented disasters in the West Bank and Gaza.
