Iranian Air Force bombers operate night surprise operations
The spokesman for Iran’s Army Air Force drill announced that the Islamic Republic Army’s Air Force bombers carried out night surprise operations in military maneuver codenamed ‘Modafean-e-Aseman-e-Velayat 97 (The Defenders of Velayat Skies 97)’.
Brigadier General Alireza Angizeh said on Thursday that in the first day of the final round of the 8th Army Air Force’s `Defenders of Velayat Skies 97′ exercises, Sukhoi 24 bomber raids and Phantom destroyed predetermined targets with heavy bombardments.
He added, ‘These bombers, using night surprises and at high altitudes, launched a bombing of air-to-ground (Carpet Bombing) targets against predefined targets.’
He added that the F-4 aircraft, using the combat lighting system, also illuminated the battle scene in order to identify and destroy targets by a similar fighter.
