Iranian Army set to conduct advanced military exercises in the western parts of the country

The Iranian Army's Ground Forces are scheduled to conduct a series of advanced military exercises in the western part of the country. The drills will involve a comprehensive deployment of specialized units, including airborne, armored, and electronic brigades, along with other military divisions.

Brigadier General Karim Chashak, the deputy commander of Operations for Iran’s Ground Forces, announced on Sunday that military exercises are set to commence shortly in the Naftshahr area of Qasr-e Shirin County, located in Kermanshah Province in western Iran.

The exercises were classified as “security, offensive, and mobile operations,” incorporating the participation of the Ground Forces’ 35th Special Forces Brigade, 55th Airborne Brigade, 181st Armored Brigade, Army Aviation units, Electronic Warfare Battalions, and drone units, among other formations.

Chashak stated that the aim of the exercises is to bolster the forces’ preparedness in addressing any external threats to the nation’s order and security.

Brigadier General Morteza Saffari, the Deputy for Supervision and Field Evaluation at the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Islamic Republic, emphasized that such military exercises offer valuable lessons to the nation’s adversaries.

He emphasized that these exercises bolster the deterrent capabilities of the Armed Forces, stating that adversaries are aware that any act of aggression against the nation would be met with a devastating response from the military.

He stated that conducting these exercises is a significant initiative being pursued by the Armed Forces, noting that the drills are conducted annually as the culmination of the forces’ specialized training programs.

He further emphasized that enhancing the combat readiness of the Armed Forces stands as a significant outcome of conducting these exercises. “The exercises span the Air Defense, Ground, Naval, and Air Forces in a highly specialized fashion, aiming to bolster readiness and augment the combat capabilities across all branches,” he stated.

Highlighting the Islamic Republic’s strong deterrence capabilities, he stated, “The Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the nation’s esteemed establishment at all times.”

In his remarks, he addressed the military threats facing the nation from adversarial forces, emphasizing that “Islam embodies a culture of courage and readiness for defense.”

He referenced the instance where Iranian combatants, drawing upon the same Islamic principles, sprang to the nation’s defense during the 1980-1988 conflict imposed by former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein on the Islamic Republic.

During the period known as the Sacred Defense, Islamic fighters rapidly mobilized to the frontlines in response to attacks by adversaries. They played a critical role in safeguarding the nation and the revered Islamic Republic of Iran, ensuring that not an inch of Iranian territory fell into enemy control.

Saffari emphasized that Islamic teachings instruct the attainment of a military deterrent capacity so robust that it would dissuade adversaries from contemplating any actions against the Islamic Republic.

The country’s military exercises are intended as a gesture of friendship and peace towards neighboring nations, the official remarked. He also stated that the Islamic Republic is planning to conduct joint military drills in collaboration with neighboring countries.

An official has stated that the Islamic Republic is committed to maintaining regional security in collaboration with its neighboring nations. The official emphasized that the involvement of countries from outside the region is unnecessary.
