Iran’s foreign minister declares that Israel’s prospects in West Asia are non-existent
The Iranian Foreign Minister has stated that Israel's assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, would hasten the regime's downfall and eliminate its prospects in the West Asia region.
On Sunday, Abbas Araghchi concluded his visit to New York, where he participated in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and provided remarks at the event’s closure.
Speaking to Iranian reporters, he expressed his condolences over the death of “the esteemed resistance leader,” asserting that this sacrifice will bolster Hezbollah’s strength.
“This martyrdom undeniably represents a significant loss; however, it will not undermine our steadfast resilience,” he stated.
“The recent actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon forecast a bleak future for the region, marked by an absence of peace. The inevitable consequence of these actions is expected to be the hastening of the Zionist regime’s decline.”
Araghchi emphasized Iran’s stance on the United States, labeling it as a “partner” in the alleged criminal activities of Israel. He also voiced his disappointment over the United Nations Security Council’s apparent failure to address the ongoing issues effectively.
Additionally, the senior Iranian diplomat emphasized that he had called upon the United Nations Secretary-General to fulfill his duty in mobilizing the international community to halt Israel’s reported violations.
On Friday, Israel conducted an operation resulting in the assassination of Nasrallah in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, marking the peak of its heightened military actions and aggression in Lebanon over the previous fortnight.
Since early October, Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in a series of lethal exchanges of fire, following the onset of what has been described as a genocidal conflict initiated by the Israeli regime against the Gaza Strip.
Over the past year, Israeli military actions have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,640 Lebanese individuals and caused injuries to 8,408 others.
In the wake of Nasrallah’s assassination, Hezbollah issued a statement declaring its unwavering commitment to “continue its struggle against the enemy in support of Gaza and Palestine, and in defense of Lebanon and its resolute and honorable citizens.”
