Iran’s parliament speaker: The nation remains unaffected by the outcomes of presidential elections in other countries

Iran's defensive capabilities remain steadfast and unaffected by changes in leadership of other nations, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated.

In a recent open parliamentary session held on Sunday, Speaker Qalibaf commented on the implications of Donald Trump’s recent election as President of the United States.

He stated that there are “significant distinctions” in how U.S. presidents express their opposition to the Islamic Republic. However, he emphasized that the matter largely hinges on Iran’s national strength.

He emphasized that the key factor influencing the adversary’s actions towards the nation is the strength, authoritative demeanor, and intelligence of the Islamic Republic, guided by its principles of revolutionary rationality.

The comings and goings of foreign leaders will not impact our nation’s capacity to safeguard its interests, provided we depend on our own domestic strength and the determination and vision inherent to Iran, according to a statement from the government.

Qalibaf emphasized that Iran’s domestic strength, derived from the steadfast determination and resilience of its people, compels global powers to take the nation’s interests into account in their policymaking.

He further called upon Iranian authorities to bolster the nation’s defensive capabilities and address economic challenges, aiming to strengthen Iran’s deterrence amidst external threats and pressures.
