Iraq Forces Controlling Last ISIL Positions in Old Mosul
The Iraqi forces battled ISIL terrorists in their last holdouts in Old Mosul on Wednesday.
“Today, our advance was easier than yesterday,” said Lieutenant Colonel Haidar Hussein, a commander in Iraq’s elite Counter-Terrorism Service.
“We took control of more than 200 meters (yards) today and there are less than 200 meters remaining toward the Tigris River,” Hussein said, referring to the waterway marking the eastern edge of remaining ISIL-held territory in the city.
