IRGC Commander Declares Lebanon Ceasefire a ‘Strategic, Humiliating Defeat’ for ‘israel’

The Chief Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has extended his congratulations to Lebanon and the Hezbollah resistance movement for achieving a ceasefire with Israel, describing it as a "strategic and humiliating defeat" for the occupying regime.

In a recent communication, Major General Hossein Salami relayed his remarks to Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem on Thursday. This message came just one day subsequent to the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, marking the cessation of hostilities that had endured for over 14 months.

He characterized the ceasefire on the Lebanese front as a significant and embarrassing setback for the Zionist regime, asserting that it failed to accomplish any of its objectives or ambitions in its conflict with Hezbollah.

He further mentioned that the truce “has the potential to signify the commencement of a ceasefire aimed at concluding the conflict in Gaza.”

Salami emphasized that Israel’s decision to accept the ceasefire, amid a heavy onslaught of Hezbollah missiles aimed at its bases and strategic locations, carries significant lessons for Tel Aviv and its allies.

He emphasized that the declining occupying force, through its actions in Gaza and Lebanon, is unintentionally fortifying the resistance movements in these regions.

The chief commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that Hezbollah had successfully thwarted Israel’s ambitions on the northern front of the occupied territories, leading to a ceasefire with the Israeli regime.

This significant victory, achieved through the ultimate sacrifice of martyrs, the steadfast patience of the Lebanese population, and the unyielding bravery and sacrifices of young people and Hezbollah, marks a pivotal moment in the history of the Islamic Ummah’s resistance against Zionist forces in West Asia.

In early October 2023, Israel initiated military operations across Lebanon, following the escalation of conflict in the Gaza Strip. These developments have sparked international concern over the rising tensions and humanitarian impact in the region.

Israeli military strikes on Lebanon have resulted in the deaths of at least 3,823 individuals, with a further 15,859 sustaining injuries, according to reports.

Hezbollah has launched counterattacks on targets within the occupied territories, in a show of solidarity with Palestinians and Lebanese, which has resulted in the displacement of nearly 70,000 Israeli settlers.

Earlier this week, a 60-day ceasefire was reached between the two parties, facilitated by diplomatic efforts from the United States and France.
