IRGC commander says Iran will remain in Syria, says conflict was ‘big loss’ for Israel
Iran will maintain an “effective and useful presence” inside of Syria, the Spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said on Saturday.
Sharif said that since the start of the Syrian Conflict, Iran has maintained within the boundaries of international law while supporting Damascus.
“This fabricated crisis has been led from abroad with the purpose of instigating insecurity in Syria and creating a safety margin for the Israeli regime,” he continued.
The IRGC Spokesperson said that the Syrian Conflict has been a “big loss” for Israel, adding that they faced off against a skilled Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in an attempt to overthrow President Bashar Al-Assad.
Both Israel and the United States have repeatedly demanded that Iran immediately withdraw all their forces from Syria.
