IRGC: People will receive positive updates regarding Iran’s retaliation
A senior officer of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has reaffirmed Iran's determination to seek retribution for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran's capital in July.
“Vengeance is assured and has been proclaimed repeatedly with no uncertainty,” stated Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the IRGC’s deputy commander for coordination, during a ceremony on Saturday. “It must be carried out at the opportune moment for maximum effectiveness.”
“The public will soon learn of the favorable news regarding the retribution,” he stated.
Haniyeh was killed along with a bodyguard in Tehran on July 31, just a day after he attended the inauguration of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The assassination took place amid Israel’s brutal offensive in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of nearly 41,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, since October of the previous year.
In other parts of his speech, Naqdi criticized the Israeli regime’s prolonged assault on the Gaza Strip, labeling the US administration as the primary supporter of the entity’s actions against Palestinians in the blockaded region.
Naqdi emphasized that greater efforts are needed to prevent the deaths of children and students in Gaza caused by Israeli actions.
