IRGC reveals a newly constructed strategic underground storage facility located in southern Iran
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced the inauguration of a new strategic underground storage facility located along the southern coast of Iran. This facility is designed to accommodate an extensive fleet of fast attack craft and additional vessels.
Major General Hossein Salami, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, the Commander of the IRGC Navy, officially inaugurated the facility on Saturday.
During his visit to the facility, the chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that the site houses a significant fleet of domestically produced Iranian fast attack craft. Additionally, the installation features vessels outfitted with torpedo launch systems and mine-laying capabilities.
He asserted that the underground naval installation constitutes merely a minor portion of the IRGC Navy’s overall capabilities.
Major General Salami announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy is actively bolstering its combat readiness and defense capabilities. He highlighted how the integration of advanced vessels and missile systems significantly enhances the combat power of various domestically produced ships patrolling the Persian Gulf. These efforts are aimed at safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty and maritime borders.
The IRGC chief commander revealed that alongside vessels and missile launchers, additional systems have been positioned on the islands and coastal regions of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, prepared to undertake a range of missions.
Major General Salami announced that, through divine assistance, the IRGC Navy has achieved substantial advancements in recent years, enhancing both the quantity and quality of its offensive capabilities.
According to his statement, there has been a significant enhancement in the operational range and optimum cruising speed of the vessels. Additionally, the range, precision, and destructive capability of the missiles they are equipped with have seen a remarkable increase.
Major General Hossein Salami announced that the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps possess the capability to engage in warfare from both short and long distances. He further indicated that the IRGC Navy is equipped to offensively and strategically track multiple layers of defense.
He stated that indigenous capabilities are robust and capable of effectively confronting smaller, uncompromising adversaries in maritime environments, regardless of the latter’s firepower.
The Iranian Armed Forces, encompassing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the national Army, have been consistently advancing their military equipment and operational readiness, following directives from Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Military forces have pledged to uphold the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in response to threats posed by adversaries of Iran.
On October 1, the Islamic Republic initiated Operation True Promise II, launching approximately 200 missiles targeting military, espionage, and intelligence facilities throughout the territories occupied by Israel.
The operation was launched in retaliation for the regime’s targeted killings of high-ranking leaders within the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements, as well as a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In the pre-dawn hours of October 26, Israeli forces launched an offensive targeting the Iranian provinces of Ilam and Khuzestan, along with the capital, Tehran. In response, Iran’s integrated air defense system effectively intercepted and neutralized the attacks.
Iran has announced its intention to retaliate following what it describes as a recent act of aggression by Israel, asserting it will uphold its national rights and not relinquish its stance.
