ISIL Attacks Numerous Sites in Northern Syria: Terrorist Group Enters Kobane
Northern Syria is on fire this Thursday morning, as the terrorist group ISIL has launched two large-scale offensives that are geared to capture the provincial capital of the Al-Hasakah Governorate and the predominately Kurdish city of Kobane (‘Ayn Al-‘Arab) in the Aleppo Governorate.
The terrorist group entered the city of Kobane from its southern perimeter, forcing the predominately Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) to mobilize its troops to combat this large-scale assault; this marks the first time since its capture by the YPG that Kobane has been attacked by the armed combatants of ISIL.
Firefights are still ongoing at Kobane; however, ISIL has yet to progress past the entrance of the city.
