ISIL kills 11 Syrian civilians in Deir ez-Zor
Members of the Takfiri ISIL militant group have executed eleven civilians and mutilated their bodies in Syria’s eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, as they continue committing crimes against humanity on a large scale in the crisis-stricken country.
Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the ISIL terrorists fatally shot and crucified two men, identified as Ibrahim Jarad al-Hajr and Murad Subhi al-Hindawi, in the town of al-Muhasan, located about 450 kilometers (280 miles) northeast of the capital, Damascus, on Thursday on the charge of fighting the militant group, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported.
The ISIL members shot dead two other men in al-Shheil, and crucified them in the main square of the village.
On January 14, ISIL killed three civilians in the city of Mayadin, situated some 500 kilometers (310 miles) northeast of Damascus. The ISIL militants mutilated two of the bodies and decapitated the third, before hanging them at the al-Bal’oum roundabout at the entrance of Mayadin.
In the village of al-Jurzi, the terrorists shot dead a Syrian man. Another civilian was killed in al-Dahla village and two others in the town of Ghraneej at ISIL hands.
Over 200,000 people have been killed in the crisis in Syria over the past nearly four years, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year alone.
ISIL, with members from several Western countries including Canada, France, Australia and Germany, controls parts of Syria and Iraq, and has been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
