ISIL Terrorists Hide among Ordinary People in Sharqat as Iraqi Army Advances
A senior popular forces commander announced that the ISIL terrorists have disguised as ordinary people in Sharqat front in the Northern part of Salahuddin province as Iraqi forces are making rapid advances there.
“The ISIL terrorists have completely lost their morale and they have disguised in order not to be identified by the Iraqi security forces,” the Arabic-language Sumeria News website quoted Jabar al-Mamouri as saying on Sunday.
He underlined that the ISIL commanders have lost their morale because their forces have fled the battlefields.
On Saturday, Iraq’s joint military forces started fresh operations in the Southern parts of Mosul to seize back the strategic region of al-Qayara in Nineveh province.
Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi ordered the start of the military operations in the Southern part of Mosul after the country’s joint military troops seized back the city of Fallujah in Anbar province.
“The winning back of Nineveh province, including Mosul city, is achievable after the capture of Fallujah city,” al-Obeidi said.
The Iraqi troops have resumed small-scale operations to dislodge ISIL militants from areas to the South and Southeast of Mosul. This comes in conjunction with a major offensive to retake the city of Fallujah in Anbar province in Western Iraq.
