ISIL’s infiltration attempt in east Al-Salamiyah fails
ISIL attempted to infiltrate the government’s positions in the eastern countryside of Al-Salamiyah last night, resulting in a fierce battle that would last several hours.
ISIL began the assault by storming the checkpoints outside the town of Al-Satahiyan; this forced the pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF) to send reinforcements to the area in order to help repulse the terrorist assault.
According to the National Defense Forces, their fighters managed to foil the Islamic State’s assault last night, killing and wounding four terrorists in the process.
The Islamic State carries out these sporadic attacks in the eastern countryside of Al-Salamiyah in order to alleviate the pressure on their forces in northeast Homs.
