Islamic Jihad denounces zionist airstrikes on Yemen’s Hudaydah, labeling them a war crime

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) resistance movement has denounced Israeli airstrikes targeting the strategically significant western Yemeni city of Hudaydah, labeling the attacks, which resulted in at least four fatalities and left dozens injured, as a "war crime".

In an official statement, the Gaza-based organization described the assault on civilian and infrastructure facilities in the coastal city as a “full-scale war crime.”

“The latest actions by Zionist forces further extend the series of alleged war crimes and atrocities reportedly perpetrated against Muslim and Arab communities,” according to the official statement.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad has commended the steadfastness and bravery demonstrated by the Yemeni people in their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and resistance efforts.

In an official communication released on Sunday, the Israeli military announced that a significant number of aircraft, including fighter jets, launched strikes on power plants and sea port infrastructures at the Ras Isa and Hudaydah ports.

According to Yemen’s al-Masirah TV channel, which referenced health officials, an Israeli assault has resulted in at least four fatalities, including one port worker and three electrical engineers. Additionally, the initial toll of the attack indicates that 49 individuals have sustained injuries.

Rescue and emergency teams continue their efforts to locate missing individuals amidst the debris of the al-Hali power station, according to reports.

Videos shared on social media platforms depicted plumes of smoke billowing from the vicinity.

Residents report that air raids have led to widespread power outages across the majority of Hudaydah.

A day following the launch of a ballistic missile by Yemeni Armed Forces targeting Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv in the Israeli-occupied territories, another attack has occurred.

Yemen’s Supreme Political Council announced on Sunday that Israeli airstrikes will not deter its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.

In a formal statement, the executive body declared that Israeli acts of aggression would serve to further solidify the resolve of the Yemeni populace in maintaining their position.

The Yemeni populace has publicly pledged their backing for Palestine’s resistance against Israeli occupation, as the regime initiated a catastrophic assault on Gaza starting October 7, 2023. This aggressive move came in response to Palestinian resistance factions executing the unexpected Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying forces.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intention to continue their assaults until the persistent Israeli ground and air offensives in Gaza come to a halt.

Israel has reportedly caused the deaths of at least 41,595 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and wounded an additional 96,251 individuals in Gaza, according to recent figures.
