Israel intensifies aerial operations targeting Syria
Israeli fighter jets have launched new strikes on Syria, focusing on regions adjacent to the Lebanese border, according to reports from various news outlets.
The Resistance Media Network, referencing Lebanese sources, has reported that Israeli aircraft launched missile strikes near the border town of Hermel in Lebanon.
According to a report by the Russian news agency Sputnik, explosions resulting from Israeli airstrikes were detected in the northwest region of Syria’s capital, Damascus.
A television channel linked to Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the armed opposition faction currently holding sway in Syria, has reported that the Israeli military has seized control of Tell Ahmar, located in the town of Kudnah near the periphery of Quneitra. This location is considered one of the region’s significant military strategic sites.
Israeli forces have reportedly extended their control into sections of Syrian territory, including the Golan Heights, after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Israeli military actions have breached the 1974 ceasefire agreement, as forces advanced into the buffer zone, escalating their offensive against Syrian infrastructure and military installations.
On November 27, Syrian armed opposition factions initiated a series of military operations against the Assad regime, focusing on regions in northwest, west, and southwest Aleppo. Following 11 days of fierce clashes, opposition forces declared they had seized control of the capital, Damascus, leading to President Assad’s departure from the country.
