Kassab residents seek refuge in Latakia
Thousands of Syrians from the northwestern town of Kassab have fled to Syria’s port city of Latakia after foreign-backed militants attacked the Christian town near the Turkish border.
According to Press TV, over 5,000 displaced Syrians coming from Kassab have sought refuge in public places in nearby Latakia after Takfiri terrorists, backed by Turkish armed forces, occupied their town.
On March 21, foreign-backed extremist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda crossed into Syria from Turkey and seized parts of the predominantly Armenian Christian town of Kassab.
The terrorist al-Nusra Front militants have also taken control of the Kassab border crossing into Turkey.
