The Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces attacked a large contingent of ISIS and Jaysh Aswad Al-Sharqiyah (Black Army of the East) terrorists at the village of Faleeta, killing 18 terrorists from the latter including the lead ISIS field commander in the Qalamoun Mountains.
According to a military source, the ISIS field commander was identified as “Abu Haidara Al-Tounisi” – a Tunisian national that has been fighting with ISIS since the advent of their participation in the Syrian Conflict.
At Al-Zabadani, the SAA and Hezbollah are officially 1,500 meters away from the western entrance into this heavily fortified city; this news comes three days after the latter captured Tal Al-Radar and Tal Khasha on the western slopes of the city.
Meanwhile, south of Damascus, the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) continued their offensive on the remaining Jabhat Al-Nusra strongholds inside the Al-Tadamon District, capturing 4 building blocks in the southwest sector on Saturday.
After a brief absence of violence in Jobar, fierce firefights erupted between the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard (Harss Al-Jamhouri) and the militants of Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) in the vicinity of the Teachers’ Tower – clashes are still ongoing and have spread to the Sawmill Roundabout.
