Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Khamenei Warns Iran’s Regional Foes of Crushing Response
“The Americans are attempting to lead the Saudis into confrontation with the Islamic Republic by provoking them and certain other regional states but if they are wise, they should not be fooled by the US,” Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Ali Khamenei said in Tehran on Sunday, addressing a large number of Iranian Workers on the occasion of the Labor Day.
Supreme Leader cautioned that the Americans plan to fool some regional states into paying the expenses of confrontation against Iran, and said, “Certain regional countries should know that if they confront Iran, they will certainly sustain a blow and defeat.”
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Ali Khamenei underlined that the US has focused on economic and cultural war against Iran as it is wary of a military confrontation against the country.
Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Khamenei said the US is afraid of an open war against Iran as it knows that war will be damaging to the US many times more than its costs for Iran, hence it seeks to strike at Iran’s interests in covert action. “But they should know that such strikes will no go unanswered.”
“The era of hit-and-run has gone and if the Americans engage in military confrontation against Iran, they will receive severely damaging blows,” the Leader added.
Supreme Leader expressed confidence that the US and its trans-regional allies will be forced to leave the region in future.
In relevant remarks earlier today, the Iranian foreign ministry blasted the remarks made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a recent press conference with his Saudi counterpart Adel al-Jubeir, warning of the dire consequences of collaboration between Riyadh and Washington for the region.
“What the US secretary of state names as partnership between the country and Saudi Arabia is a collaboration to stir instability, launch war and further escalate the arms race and extremism based on the adventures of a number of unskilled and warmongering Saudi politicians, which have already yielded destructive results like continued violence, hostility and distrust among the regional nations, prolonged crises, insecurity and instability in the region,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Monday.
He described Pompeo’s claims about Iran’s role in the region as repeatedly-stated and baseless allegations, stressing that Iran plays an advisory role in two regional states at the demand of their legal governments and it will continue its presence until they need help to fight against terrorism.
Qassemi also underlined that allegations about Iran’s interference in Yemen are also raised with the aim of diverting the world public opinion from the crimes committed by Saudi Arabia against the poor Arab country.
