Leader of Islamic Ummah Imam Khamenei: Enemy seeking disrupting Iran’s economy

Felicitating the holy Eid, Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei described the most important message of Ghadir event as appointment of “Imamah” as principle and norm of governance in Islamic society and highlighted the unique characteristics of Imam Ali (AS), particularly his governance features and urged following his path.

“Ghadir is about leadership of Islamic society, setting norms and rules for governance in Islamic society; this is principle of Imamah and Welayah. When principle of Imamah and Welayah was set, enemies were disappointed from deviating path of religion,” said Leader and asserted that “Islam accepts governance of Imamah. Ghadir announced this. Forever and anywhere a Muslim wants to realize Islam, they must revive Imamah.”

Pointing to Quran which has told Prophet that his mission would have been incomplete without announcement of Imam Ali’s appointment as Imam, Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that “this Islamic belief is based on strong foundations and undeniable reasoning, but commitment to this belief and expressing it can’t be associated with provoking feelings of Sunni Muslims, as it is against Infallible Imams’ manner.”

Supreme Leader underlined significance of unity in Muslim world and that insulting respected figures in Sunni sect as a wrongdoing would prevent logical and persuasive foundations of belief in Imamah from being heard; “provocation of other Islamic sects in name of Shiism is nothing but “British Shiism” which results in formation of mercenary groups such as ISIL and Al- Nusra which are affiliated with and connected to the United states and British intelligence service and have inflicted heavy damages in region.”

Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei highlighted Imam Ali’s simple life and lack of interest in materialistic and wordly benefits and emphasized that main objective of enemy in current situation is intriguing economic problems; “If a country wants to strengthen its economy it must stop extravagance.” Supreme Leader then called on people to prevent extravagance which can turn into a weak point for the country; “one of the routes for enemy to inflict damage is to exploit society’s weak points. “Enemy wants to worsen economic conditions of people to cause discontent with Islam and Islamic Establishment. In this situation, it is the duty of government, Parliament, officials and also all people to plan and act to counter this targeting of enemy.”
