upreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has lauded the “exceptional” dedication and sacrifice of Lieutenant General Qassem Suleimani, the country’s prominent anti-terrorism figure, who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2020.
Speaking to an assembly of families of martyrs, veterans, and resistance activists, Imam Khamenei emphasized the unparalleled contribution of Martyr Soleimani in combating terrorism. He underscored that Soleimani’s sacrifices and contributions should be enshrined in the nation’s political discourse.
The Leader highlighted Martyr Suleimani’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the Resistance Front, noting his persistent efforts to invigorate the resistance throughout the region. The esteemed commander held the defense of holy sites as a core principle, frequently regarding Iran as a “sacred shrine.”
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Suleimani’s broad global perspective and his rejection of a “narrow and confined mindset” were vital attributes. These qualities, according to Khamenei, empowered Suleimani to identify and avert threats originating from outside Iran’s borders.
Faith is expected to ultimately triumph in both Lebanon and Yemen, according to recent statements.
The Leader emphasized that recent events, notably the defense of sacred sites in Iraq, Syria, and the broader region, have demonstrated the enduring vitality of the Islamic Revolution. He assured that the “truth front” would inevitably secure victory, with the “flag of resistance” continuing to soar despite opposition efforts by adversaries.
In response to the United States’ targeted killing of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that the missile strike by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the Ain al-Asad airbase was merely a preliminary act of retaliation. Khamenei further asserted that US military installations in Syria will eventually be overrun by local Syrian forces, underscoring the nation’s sovereignty and the rightful claim of the Syrian people to their land.
