Lebanese Army arrests 4 Syrians suspected of destroying Christian shrine
The statue of St. Elias in the town of Abra was destroyed by a group of vandals, the National News Agency (NNA) of Lebanon reported on Saturday.
Following the destruction of the St. Elias statue, Lebanese military intelligence launched an investigation to track down the assailants.
According to the National News Agency, the Lebanese Army arrested four Syrians suspected of smashing the statue in the eastern countryside of Saida (Sidon).
The four assailants have now been transferred to the local authorities in Saida.
