Lebanese army hunts ISIS in the Qalamoun Mountains
The Lebanese Army carried out a number of attacks against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) on Saturday morning, as they continued their large-scale cleansing operation in the eastern part of the country.
A military source in Beirut told Al-Masdar News on Saturday that the Lebanese Army carried out several attacks against the Islamic State in the Qa’a Barrens and Ba’albak Highlands of the Beqa’a Governorate.
These two areas are located in the vast Qalamoun Mountains that stretch across Lebanon’s Beqa’a Governorate and Syria’s Rif Dimashq province.
ISIS maintains a large presence in the Qalamoun Mountains; especially, along the Syrian border-crossing into the Qarah Barrens.
