Media: Washington Likely to Repeat Syria Chemical Plot in Yemen
A report by the Arabic-language al-Najm al-Thaqib news website said following the damages and losses sustained by the Saudi-led Arab coalition in the war against Yemen, the coalition has been left with no option but using a false-flag operation, including the use of chemical weapons, to set up the stage for a future invasion by the US.
The report said based on its intel, the forces loyal to fugitive president Mansour Hadi and ISIL terrorists have attacked a vaccination center in Ta’iz several days ago and broke the microbes and virus storage containers.
According to the website, the microbes and viruses in the containers could be used for making biological weapons to hit the Yemeni people.
“Under such conditions, the US seems to be willing to use the same plot in Khan Sheikhoun against people in Ta’iz and justify its military attack against Yemen,” it added.
On April 7, the United States launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Syrian military airfield in Shayrat in Homs province. US President Donald Trump said that the attack was a response to the alleged chemical weapon use in Syria’s Idlib province on April 4, which resulted in the death of over 80 people, an incident which Washington blames on Damascus government.
The Syrian Foreign Ministery denied the government’s involvement in the Idlib incident, saying it had never nor would it ever use chemical weapons on either civilians or terrorists operating in the country.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on April 5 that the airstrike near Khan Sheikhoun by the Syrian air force hit a terrorist warehouse that stored chemical weapons slated for delivery to Iraq, and called on the UN Security Council to launch a proper investigation into the incident.
