Mikdad stresses the need for Syrian embassies abroad to be more involved in economic diplomacy
Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister in the caretaker government Fayssal Mikdad stressed the need for the Syrian embassies and diplomatic missions abroad to be more involved in economic diplomacy.
Delivering a speech at the opening of the regular meeting of ambassadors and representatives of Syrian diplomatic missions abroad, Mikdad said that economic diplomacy has become a fundamental pillar of the Ministry’s work, and establish effective links with various state bodies concerned in this field.
Mikdad highlighted the Ministry’s work and its diplomatic missions abroad and difficulties and challenges facing this work.
Mikdad pointed out the successes achieved by the Ministry politically and diplomatically despite the great challenges and difficulties that Syria has faced , and indicated the important role of the brothers, allies, and friends who supported Syria.
He also pointed out challenges facing the Arab region, in particular the suffering of the Palestinian people facing the Israeli genocide that is being committed with full support from the United States.
He also welcomed the steadfastness of the people in southern Lebanon and their courageous response to repeated Israeli attacks, and praised the struggle and sacrifices of the Syrian citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan.
He added that Syria will continue to work with all determination to end the illegal US military presence in northeastern Syria and the Turkish one in the northwest.
He reiterated that Damascus will continue to make its national decisions and adopt principled positions with full independence, despite the challenges and difficulties imposed by colonial powers to dissuade it from this firm position.
