Mikdad: Syria will continue to support the Palestinian people
Damascus ,SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, said that the fierce attack to which Syria and the Palestinian people are exposed, seeks to liquidate the Arab rights and the resilience of the Palestinian and Syrian peoples, and to end the Palestinian people’s right to return and establish their independent State.
Meeting Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Mikdad affirmed that the Palestinian cause will ever remain the central issue for Syria.
“Syria will continue to support the Palestinian people and their inalienable right to self-determination and to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, giving the Palestinian state full membership at the UN with the return of refugees to their home according to resolution No. 194 of 1948,” Mikdad said.
He condemned, at the same time, the settlement occupation schemes that did not stop in the Palestinian territories and the support that the settlers receive from Western countries.
For his part, al-Ahmad briefed on Mikdad the difficult situation that the Palestinian cause is going and the struggle of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli massacres and the extremist racist occupation policies.
He added that Syria has never abandoned its firm stance in support of the cause of the Palestinian people for obtaining their legitimate rights.
Al-Ahmad called on the world to bear in mind the grievances of the Palestinian people who have suffered and are still suffering from the occupation that proceeds in the Judaization of the land and in its settlement measures and Zionist project that began since the Balfour Declaration.
