Mikdad, Velayati affirm depth of relations binding Syria and Iran
Tehran, SANA- Syria and Iran have discussed the bilateral relations and the latest developments in the regional and international arenas, and the coordination of common stances between the two friendly countries.
That came during a meeting in Tehran today that brought together Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad and Advisor to the Leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Ali Akbar Velayati.
Mikdad highlighted the historical depth of the Syrian-Iranian relations, which have reached a stage that have made them difficult to undermine, thanks to the steadfastness of the peoples of the two countries and the wisdom of their leaderships.
Mikdad hailed the wisdom of the Iranian leadership in its handling of the recent events in the Iranian arena which have been instigated and supported by Western powers and the Israeli occupation entity.
For his part, Velayati affirmed Iran’s adherence to standing firmly by Syria’s leadership and people, and its steadfast support at all levels.
He highly appreciated the achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army and the axis of resistance in the face of terrorism, which established a new phase of cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
