More than 12,700 Palestinian students have been killed by zionist regime in Gaza and the West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Education has reported that the Israeli military operations, commencing on October 7, 2023, have resulted in the deaths of 12,799 Palestinian students and left 20,942 others injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The ministry characterized the casualties among students and educators as "horrifying."

The ministry has expressed grave concern over the significant loss of life and injuries among students and teachers, labeling the situation as “horrifying.”

In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry reported that over a period of 14 months of ongoing Israeli hostilities in Gaza and the West Bank, a total of 598 educators and school officials lost their lives, while an additional 3,801 individuals sustained injuries.

According to the ministry, Gaza bore the brunt of the casualties with 12,681 students reported dead and an additional 20,311 injured.

The ministry reported that during the same timeframe, 425 government schools, universities, and associated facilities in Gaza were targeted and obliterated. Among these, 171 buildings suffered significant damage while 77 structures were entirely demolished, leaving only debris in their wake.

Sixty-five schools administered by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) have reportedly been bombed and demolished by Israeli military operations in Gaza. Additionally, reports indicate that 109 other schools and seven universities in the West Bank have been raided and searched by Israeli forces.

The ministry has confirmed that approximately 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip remain without access to education, with the majority experiencing psychological trauma and confronting challenging health issues.
