New battlefield map of northeast Aleppo
The Syrian Armed Forces had a productive Thursday in northeast Aleppo, capturing several sites from the Islamist rebels of Fatah Halab.
Led by the 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture Talat Bureij, Majbal Al-Zatin, Tal ‘Oweija, and Tal Al-Asfar near the Hanano District.
Tal Al-Asfar is arguably the most important site that was captured by the Syrian Armed Forces on Thursday because of its proximity to the Hanano Youth Housing Complex.
Losing the Hanano Youth Housing Complex would be disastrous for Fatah Halab because it is one of the most important bases for the Islamist rebels in east Aleppo.
