New Development: Newly formed Syrian resistance group to launch “surprise” attacks targeting zionist military forces

A newly-formed resistance group has surfaced in Syria, vowing to carry out unexpected attacks against Israeli forces currently occupying parts of the country. The group also aims to target the "terrorist factions" aligned with the self-declared leader, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria (IRFS) announced that it had previously conducted an offensive targeting Israeli forces in Quneitra province, located in Syria’s southwestern region, at the end of January.

The statement declared that the operation signaled the commencement of its counteractions “against the Israeli adversary, in conjunction with our efforts against the terrorist factions associated with Jolani.”

The recent developments have confirmed forecasts made by numerous regional authorities and resistance leaders regarding the anticipated rise of resistance fighters in the Arab nation.

A new group has emerged just weeks after the foreign-backed militants of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham seized control of Syria. This takeover occurred amidst a series of intense Israeli airstrikes across the Syrian landscape. Israel, citing concerns about preventing the spread of violence into the occupied Palestinian territories, has escalated its military actions within the region.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) once controlled several regions in northern Syria but was subsequently forced to retreat due to actions taken by Syrian government forces and their allies. This shift in control followed the onset of hostilities in 2011, which were supported by Western nations and Israel.

Despite the significant damage inflicted on Syria’s civilian and military infrastructures due to recent attacks, Jolani has stated that he does not intend to pursue any conflict with Tel Aviv.

According to Ghani, the former commander of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, who declared himself Syria’s “president” late last month, is anticipated to establish a temporary “legislative body.” This entity would function until the approval of a new “constitution.”

Initially involved in regional conflict, he served as a Daesh commander in Iraq’s Nineveh and Mosul Provinces. In 2012, he was personally chosen by Daesh’s late leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to establish a Syrian branch as the foreign-supported insurgency against the regime of Syria’s former President Bashar al-Assad began.

In a statement released on Friday, the newly-formed Syrian resistance group detailed the events of its January 31st operation against Israeli forces. The group claimed that the offensive successfully compelled Israeli troops to “retreat and withdraw” from their positions.

“The statement emphasized a firm stance against the occupation by Israeli forces, vowing vigilance against both Israeli actors and the Jolani groups, and hinted at employing strategic ambushes and surprise tactics as countermeasures.”

On Friday, Israeli Army Radio reported an incident where armed individuals fired upon Israeli occupation forces in the Quneitra countryside. The report indicated that there were no casualties resulting from the incident.

Israeli journalist Doron Kadosh characterized the event as a “notably rare occurrence,” noting it as the first instance in two months where armed individuals had infiltrated the operational zone of Israeli forces and initiated gunfire against them.

A group identified as the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria has asserted responsibility for attacking our forces. According to the spokesman, the current situation makes it premature to determine if this marks the onset of a structured armed resistance against Israeli operations within Syrian territory.

The International Revolutionary Freedom Society (IRFS), predominantly composed of Shia Muslims from Syria, was formerly known as the “Southern Liberation Front,” according to reports.

In a recent announcement, the organization stated that its founding mission is to safeguard the Syrian populace and work towards the expulsion of Israeli forces from Syrian lands.
