Osama Hamdan: Resistance fighters engaged in ‘fierce battles’
The leader in the Hamas Movement, Osama Hamdan, said the resistance fighters have been waging “fierce battles” with Israeli forces in various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to reporters in Beirut, the Hamas official said the “real number” of Israeli troops that have been killed and injured is “much higher” than the figures declared by Israel.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli army have failed to achieve any political or military goals, and they will never achieve them, Hamdan said.
Addressing the family members of Israeli captives in Gaza, Hamdan said: “Your military’s ongoing war campaign against our people will not return your children to you.”
“They will not return if the aggression doesn’t stop,” he warned.
Shifting to another issue, Hamdan said, “There are only some 100 aid trucks that enter Gaza daily, but what the Strip needs is 600 trucks per day.”
He pointed out that areas in northern Gaza only receive a fraction of what has been allowed to enter the Strip, accusing UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent of not carrying out their duties.
