Over 50 ISIL Terrorists Killed in Syria’s Hasaka
The Syrian army has prevented an attempt by ISIL Takfiri militants to enter a city in northeastern al-Hasakah Province.
According to a source in the province, Syrian forces on Tuesday foiled an attempt by the Takfiri militants to attack Tal al-Gazal area in southeast of Qamishli city, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.
Syrian soldiers killed a number of the terrorists in the counter-attack, the source added.
The Syrian army units also conducted special operations against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in al-Shbib and Bab al-Kheer villages south of al-Hassakah.
The Syrian troops also carried out operations in Daraa, Idleb, and Quneitra, inflicting heavy losses on Takfiri militants.
On Monday, Syrian army soldiers killed over 30 militants in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor, according to Syrian media.
The Monday fighting took place near the Deir Ezzor military airbase. The airbase lies between the ISIL stronghold of Raqqa and the Iraqi border. Syrian government troops have thwarted several offensives by ISIL Takfiri militants on the airbase.
Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. Western powers and their regional allies — especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey — are the main supporters of the militants operating inside Syria.
More than 200,000 people have died so far in the conflict in Syria, according to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Zeid al-Hussein.
