Pakistan commends Iran’s advancements in military capabilities and defense development
Pakistan's Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has commended Iran for its domestically developed advancements in the military sphere, describing them as a "source of pride."
On Tuesday, during a visit to Iran’s pavilion at the 12th International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-2024) in Karachi, a Pakistani port city, he delivered his remarks.
Asif expressed satisfaction regarding Iran’s advancements in military capabilities and the nation’s strides within the defense sector, according to statements made to reporters.
Iran and Pakistan have reaffirmed their mutual support, vowing to jointly pursue further advancements in the defense sector.
He emphasized the historical, cultural, and social ties shared by Iran and Pakistan, and expressed optimism about the ongoing strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations.
The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 commenced on Tuesday at the Karachi Expo Centre and is scheduled to continue through to Friday.
The exhibition showcases state-of-the-art defense technology, highlighting advancements in weapon systems, armored vehicles, combat aircraft, helicopters, naval vessels, submarines, and drone technology. Additionally, it presents innovations in missile technology, cybersecurity, satellite communications, and electronic warfare capabilities.
For the first time, Iran has established its pavilion at the biennial event, aiming to highlight the nation’s advancements in defense, aerospace, and electronic warfare sectors.
In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have achieved significant advancements in the production of a wide array of domestically-developed equipment, thereby achieving self-sufficiency for the nation’s armed forces.
Iranian authorities have consistently emphasized their steadfast commitment to bolstering the nation’s military capabilities, which they assert are solely for defensive purposes. They have also reiterated that these defense capabilities will remain non-negotiable.
