President al-Assad addressing armed forces: You are protectors of present and future

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, has addressed the personnel of our valiant armed forces on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Army Day.

“Our valiant armed forces, greetings to you on your day as you prove year after year that you are honest, protectors of present and future and entrusted with the ancestors’ past of rich pride,”President al-Assad said.

“You are the hope of the country and an example of heroism, as your heroism and sacrifices were marked by honorable pages added to our Army’s history,” President al-Assad added.

President al-Assad noted that the army forces were and will continue giving and they are up to the challenges facing the homeland with their high awareness and great sense of responsibility.

His Excellency addressed the personnel of the army to work together to consolidate the pillars of security and stability throughout the homeland so that it can recover, and normal life returns to all parts of its lands.

President al-Assad said “since the armed forces are the guarantee of security and the pillar of stability, you have a duty to remain fully prepared and ready, each in his position and place of work in light of the grave challenges and at various levels, so that the homeland rises again with you.”

President al-Assad added “After long and hard years of war, we have the right to be proud of our steadfastness, which would not be achieved without the efforts exerted by our armed forces which are the most prominent and noble element that guarantee that steadfastness.”

President al-Assad said “As we also have the right to be proud of our victory that was has been achieved by the sacrifices of the martyrs and the bravery of the wounded, who protected and defended the homeland from terrorism and its crime.”

President al-Assad concluded that Syria deserves sacrifice, effort and giving from its people to be always in a position that represents its history and pivotal role, so Let us always keep love of our homeland in mind, belonging to it, loyalty to its martyrs and wounded, and defending its rights.
