President al-Assad issues law on establishing information ministry to replace the one issued in 1961

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad issued on Tuesday Law No. 19 of 2024, establishing the Ministry of Information, to replace the one that was releasd by Legislative Decree No.186 in 1961.

Law No. 19 aims to enable the Ministry to keep pace with developments in media and administrative systems along with tools around the world to optimally activate the ministry’s role.

Passing this law was in the context of modernizing the legislation regulating the work of government institutions, in a way that provides them with working mechanisms that enable them to exercise their supervisory, administrative and executive role in accordance with modern and latest developments.
