President Pezeshkian: Schemes against Iran by adversaries destined for failure
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that sanctions targeting the nation's oil sector will not adversely affect the Islamic Republic, provided that its citizens continue to depend on the internal capacities, resources, and assets available within the country.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that foreign-imposed oil sanctions will not adversely affect the Islamic Republic of Iran, provided that the nation capitalizes on its internal capacities, resources, and assets.
During a Thursday meeting with artists and artisans from Tehran’s southeastern province, Pezeshkian emphasized that adversarial plots against the Iranian populace are destined to fail.
He asserted that Iran remains confident in the face of oil sanctions, attributing this resilience to the country’s rich resources of specialists, elites, producers, industrialists, and artists. Highlighting the capabilities of Iran’s scientific and cultural sectors, he emphasized that these national assets mitigate concerns regarding external economic pressures.
Pezeshkian emphasized the critical importance of human capital in sustaining a nation’s prosperity, arguing that reliance solely on material assets can lead to eventual decline. He advocated for fostering a robust community of producers, artists, traders, and scientists, suggesting that bolstering these sectors would undermine the impact of external threats and sanctions.
The Iranian President emphasized that the United States is exerting pressure on Iran due to the nation’s dependency on oil and gas resources.
Pezeshkian emphasized the vulnerability of relying solely on underground resources, warning that their removal or restricted sale could spell trouble. However, he pointed out that the creation of art and production offers a resilient alternative, immune to external obstacles. He assured that the government remains unwavering in its support for artists, pledging to offer them an unrestricted platform for their work.
The Iranian President underscored the potential of human innovation, asserting that reliance on individual intellect and skills equips a nation to overcome challenges, rendering it resilient against external pressures.
In a recent address, President Pezeshkian emphasized the untapped potential within Iran, likening the nation to a trove of hidden treasures. He remarked on the disparity between this potential and the current state of the nation, urging for a transformative vision accompanied by unity and renewed support. Pezeshkian called for a reimagining of possibilities to ensure a future where Iranians can live with dignity and pride. In a related development, President Pezeshkian firmly rejected overtures for negotiations with the United States under pressure, criticizing the Trump administration’s hardline strategy towards Iran. He emphasized that Iran should not be compared to Ukraine in this context, asserting the nation’s stance against negotiations under duress.
Relations between Iran and the United States have markedly deteriorated following the unilateral decision by then-US President Donald Trump to exit the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), established in 2015, mandated that Iran undertake a series of confidence-building measures aimed at curtailing its nuclear activities. In return, Iran received relief from economic sanctions.
In the wake of the withdrawal, the Trump administration initiated a robust “maximum pressure” campaign designed to severely impact Iran’s economy. This involved imposing stringent sanctions on key sectors, including oil exports and the banking industry, as well as other vital industrial sectors.
American officials have openly acknowledged that the policy aims to undermine Iran’s economic and political stability.
