President Raeisi: Military Option Against Iran “Off the Table”
President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi said that the enemy does not anymore think of military attack on Iran, adding that his country will not start any war, but will give a tough response to the slightest mistake against Tehran.
“…we will not be the initiator of any war, but if a country wants to bully Iran, it will respond firmly,” Rayeesi stated on Friday.
He said Iran’s military power does not pose any threat to the countries in West Asia, but it is a source of security and stability that the regional states can rely on.
His remarks came after three American soldiers were killed and at least 40 others wounded in a drone strike on a US base near the Jordan-Syria border. President Joe Biden and US Central Command, which directs American military operations in the region, immediately blamed the attack on “radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq”, without providing any evidence.
Iran has dismissed Washington’s claim that Tehran was connected to the drone strike, describing it as a conspiracy by those who are seeking to drag the US into a new regional conflict. Iranian officials stressed that the regional resistance groups do not take orders from Iran and act independently, advising Washington to stop the habit of threatening Tehran.
Iran’s president also stressed that the enemies used to resort to “the language of threat” against Iran and even stated “a military option was on the table”, but now they announce that they do not seek “any confrontation” with Tehran.
He reiterated the deterrent nature of Iran’s military might.
