Protesters in US, Austria and the Palestinian cities of Gaza and Bethlehem rally against Israel’s restrictions on al-Aqsa mosque.
The Palestinian resistance factions have called on the Palestinian masses to actively participate in popular rallies to be staged on Tuesday in the Gaza Strip and the occupied territories in support of the Aqsa Mosque.
A statement read by senior Hamas official Ismail Radwan on behalf of the factions in a news conference held on Sunday in Gaza warned the Israeli occupation of persisting in its aggression against the Aqsa Mosque, describing its recent access measures at the holy site as “a declaration of war on the Palestinian people and the entire Muslim nation.”
The statement welcomed the invitation made by head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, for the Palestinian factions to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the recent developments in the Palestinian arena.
It also emphasized the importance of such a meeting to address the challenges facing the Palestinian cause and to agree on a joint strategy and program to resist the occupation.
The factions urged the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah to take legal action against Israeli leaders at international courts to hold them accountable for the crimes they had committed against the Palestinian people.
