Remembering Gen. Qassem Soleimani, hero of the oppressed worldwide
January 4 remains one of the saddest days of my life when the biggest evil in the world, the imperialist US regime, cowardly assassinated the hero of the oppressed around the world – General Qassem Soleimani.
The man who singlehandedly plotted the defeat of the US-created Daesh terrorist group in the West Asia region and drove the Zionist regime to the brink of annihilation.
General Soleimani, chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and their companions were assassinated in a US drone strike authorized by then-US President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport.
It is common knowledge that the US, Zionist regime and their regional allies helped create Daesh terrorism to overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian government.
The “regime change” agenda was designed to eliminate the Palestinian question by forcing Syria into signing the Egyptian-type treaty with the racist apartheid child-murdering Zionist regime.
We should remember that the same US regime not too long ago created Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly admitted it.
The Daesh terrorist group went berserk across Syria and northern Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of people in the two countries were brutally murdered, women were raped, and towns and cities were razed down.
The terrorist group went on to threaten Lebanon and other Muslim countries in the region. Definitely, the modern world has not seen a more cruel, murderous, bloodthirsty and barbaric terror group than Daesh.
They slaughtered the innocent people in the same way as their Western hegemonic masters and the Zionist child killers occupying Palestine have been doing for several decades.
In that critical period of history, a hero emerged from the Islamic Republic of Iran, General Soleimani, who masterfully and tactfully took on the Western-backed terrorist group, defeated and crushed it.
It was a hydra-headed evil created by Western hegemonic powers to further their imperialist agenda in West Asia. And Gen. Soleimani foiled the plot.
Acting on the instructions of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, General Soleimani galvanized the Axis of Resistance and backed them in unimaginable ways.
To invoke leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, he was the central figure in this axis who helped bring different resistance movements in the region closer.
He also flew to Russia and invited the Russian government to form an alliance to crush the Daesh terrorism in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin readily accepted the invitation.
Hezbollah naturally also joined this alliance. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in his speech on Wednesday and previously as well has explained the role played by the late Iranian anti-terror commander in helping Iraq and Syria as well as Lebanon defeat their enemies.
In Iraq, Gen. Soleimani, along with his friend and confidante Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, mobilized all the Iraqi communities of Shia, Sunni, Kurds, Christian, Turkmen and Yazidi to the fight resist the Daesh.
And then the historic and heroic battles began.
The US and by extension the Western hegemony had envisioned that the group they created would last years to help them realize their evil imperialist ambition with the mass slaughter of innocent civilians in the region, the astronomical looting of rich resources and the permanence of the racist apartheid Israeli regime.
The anti-Daesh alliance that Gen. Soleimani created and spearheaded effectively destroyed this evil imperialist agenda, annihilated the terrorist entity and liberated all the towns and cities occupied by it.
It is important to note that the indigenous Christian population in the West Asia region today is due to the indefatigable efforts of General Soleimani and the resistance alliance he led.
Daesh posed an existential threat to Christians, besides Muslims. It was bent on enslaving all Christians and turning their girls and women into sex slaves.
The indigenous Christian population of Iraq and Syria were deeply saddened by his martyrdom and held mourning ceremonies in their churches to honor his memory and legacy of resistance against evil.
His assassination, authorized by Trump, was an irreparable loss for humanity. It was a big favor to the Zionist regime against whom Gen. Soleimani led an inspired fight, because of which Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh described him as “the martyr of al-Quds.”
His contribution toward strengthening the Palestinian resistance front was truly phenomenal. He provided weapons to them and at the same time helped them become self-reliant in developing their own weapons.
Today after almost 90 days of aggression, the child-killing Israeli regime has failed woefully to defeat the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza despite military assistance by the US and other Western powers.
This is what Gen. Soleimani will always be remembered for.
