Resistance pro-Palestine strikes will cease once ‘israeli’ atrocities in Gaza end: Hezbollah official
A senior Hezbollah official says fighters from the Lebanese resistance movement and their comrades in other regional states will cease their retaliatory operations against Israeli interests once the occupying regime ends its atrocities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, deputy head of the executive council of Hezbollah, said on Saturday that the fact that combat drones launched by Lebanese, Iraqi and Yemeni resistance groups have managed to penetrate skies over Acre, Beit Hallel, Arab al-Aramshe and other regions in the occupied territories demonstrates that the aircraft can suppress the Israeli regime’s ground-based missile systems.
“The [Israeli military] strikes on ordinary civilians in southern Lebanon will not alter the existing equations, and will not guarantee repatriation of settlers. The Zionist enemy cannot escape defeat through such assaults.
“Resistance forces in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen will stop their operations only after the aggression against Gaza stops,” he pointed out.
Qaouk further noted that Washington has given Israel carte blanche to go ahead with its plans for a ground offensive in Rafah and widen the circle of aggression in the region through its unconditional military supplies to the regime.
The United States has been providing Israel with maximal military and intelligence support since early October when the latter unleashed the Gaza war. Washington has also vetoed several United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire in the brutal military onslaught that has so far killed thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children.
American students have been raging against their universities’ connection to the Israeli regime and Washington’s all-out support for the genocide.
At least 34,388 Palestinians have been killed and another 77,437 individuals wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
