President said strengthening of banking and economic relations between Iran and Indonesia can pave the way for all-round development of bilateral relations; “Tehran and Jakarta enjoy good capacities economically and today, in post-sanctions era, the level of these relations can be further promoted for the benefit of the two nations”.
Rouhani described current regional conditions worrisome, saying “in the current circumstances, Muslim-majority nations such as Indonesia and Iran have a huge responsibility to establish peace and stability in the Islamic world and to avoid killing of even a Muslim person”.
Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, for his part, also pointed to the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries adding Iran and Indonesia as two important Muslim countries in the Muslim world have always been looking for peace and development and today should increase their cooperation and work together for peace and stability in the region.
He noted that Tehran and Jakarta alongside efforts to develop their relations in various fields, can constructively cooperate to establish stability and security in the Muslim world and to thwart dominators’ attempts to create conflict and tension in different Islamic countries.
