Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah group, on Sunday urged a “million-strong” demonstration in response to lethal U.S. airstrikes on the capital, Sanaa, and other regions.

In a televised address, Sayyed Al-Houthi has urged citizens to participate en masse in a march across Sanaa and other governorates, marking the anniversary of the historic Battle of Badr. The call aims to commemorate a pivotal military victory achieved by the Prophet Muhammad.

In a speech broadcast on Sunday evening, the leader of the Yemeni revolutionary movement issued a stern warning, stating that any increase in hostilities will be met with a corresponding escalation in response.

In a statement, the spokesperson announced that missile strikes would be utilized to target enemy assets, specifically mentioning the aircraft carrier, warships, and other vessels in response to attacks and raids by the United States.

The situation remains tense, with officials indicating that there are still measures available to further intensify the response. Should the aggressive actions persist, authorities have signaled readiness to implement additional escalating measures.

A prominent Houthi leader has announced a prohibition on American vessels entering the Red Sea, effectively barring them from access to this strategic maritime area.

In the wake of Sayyed Al-Houthi’s recent address, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday that they had launched a second assault within 24 hours targeting a US aircraft carrier group. This move was described as a response to US military strikes.

Just hours following the United States’ execution of two military strikes on the strategic port city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, an announcement was made.

The Yemeni Health Ministry announced on Sunday that overnight airstrikes conducted by the United States resulted in the deaths of at least 53 individuals, among whom were five women and two children. Additionally, nearly 100 people sustained injuries from the strikes, which targeted the capital, Sanaa, and extended to other regions, including Saada.

The overnight airstrikes marked one of the most comprehensive assaults on Yemen since the onset of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
