Sayyed Nasrallah Stresses Fighting Public Sector Corruption in Lebanon “Major Battle”
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed on Friday that fighting the public sector corruption in Lebanon is a major national battle, adding that the party will start carrying out all the items of its election program in order to be honest with its supporters.
In a televised speech on the 18th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Hezbollah leadership studied the corruption file and appointed a committee to follow it up under the supervision of the Secretary General.
“MP Sayyed Hasan Fadlallah was appointed as the committee’s chairman, assisted by a group of cadres who will prepare all the required documents and data in coordination of the entire structure of Hezbollah.”
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah will hold rounds of talks with its national allies in order to launch the anti-corruption fight, stressing the country’s financial collapse will be prevented, especially after all the Lebanese sacrifices and national victories.
Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that Hezbollah will carry out all the items of the election programs, including anti-corruption, calling on all political parties to abide by their promises they had made before the parliamentary elections in order to be honest with the people.
New Government in Lebanon
Hezbollah Secretary General stressed that the party supports forming a broad government in which all the political and parliamentary blocs are seriously represented, calling for a speedy formation in order to preserve the national interests.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the US-Gulf sanctions against Hezbollah will not delay the Lebanese government’s formation, denying the reports which claimed that the party seeks a speedy birth of the government for fear of a possible Israeli war on Lebanon and the consequences of the US-Gulf sanctions.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah will have effective presence and role in the upcoming government, refuting the rumors that alleged the party wants a “sovereign” ministerial portfolio.
“Hezbollah and Amal Movement fully agreed on the distribution of the ministerial portfolios, and the formation of the government won’t face major barriers.”
US-Gulf Sanctions against Hezbollah
Hezbollah leader noted that the US-Gulf sanctions against the party will fail to harm its officials for they do not have bank deposits and financial transactions, but that those sanctions can negatively affect the supporters of the Resistance, especially the businessmen and their firms.
Sayyed Nasrallah called on the Lebanese government to protect the Lebanese businessmen and firms targeted by the US-Gulf sanctions which, according to his eminence, aim to harm Hezbollah social incubator and funders, scare and push away its allies, and dry up its financial resources.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that this financial siege won’t affect the Resistance’s will which according to his eminence, has been able to defeat all the US-supported terrorists in Syria.
According to Sayyed Nasrallah, the problem is that the Americans view the others as mercenaries and evaluate them according to their financial abilities.
Sayyed Nasrallah added that Hezbollah fighters hold religious beliefs which make them ready to sacrifice despite all the hard conditions.
“Those can never be defeated by blacklisting their names.”
Hezbollah vital role in defeating the Zionist enemy and frustrating the US schemes in the region will certainly expose it to such sanctions, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who highlighted that all losses caused by the US-Gulf sanctions will be considered part of the sacrifices made on the Resistance path.
Hezbollah Secretary General denied the Moroccan accusations which claimed that the party was involved in supporting the Polisario Front, adding that Morocco’s FM did not submit documented proofs to his Iranian counterpart, contrary to what he claimed.
On the occasion, Sayyed Nasrallah congratulated the Resistance supporters on Liberation’s Day, citing the great sacrifices made by the mujahidin (fighters), martyrs, injured, prisoners, and their families.
Sayyed Nasrallah also highlighted the role of the Lebanese army and security apparatuses in facing the Israeli enemy, adding that other Lebanese and Palestinian parties in addition to the Syrian army contributed to 2000 victory.
Hezbollah leader stressed that Iran and Syria were the only two countries which supported the Resistance in its war against the usurping entity, highlighting that Hezbollah social incubator played an important role through their steadfastness and sacrifices.
Sayyed Nasrallah also congratulated the Syrian leadership, army and people on the full liberation of Damascus and its countryside from the terrorist groups
Sayyed Nasrallah cited the feat made by the Resistance people when they moved back to their villages after 2006 war, insisting on keeping in their houses despite all the challenges.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the Holy God grants victory to the people who deserve it, adding that this applies on the Resistance and its supporters who never sought pretexts, which were abundant, to abandon the jihadi path.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that despite the unbalanced military capabilities and all the hard conditions imposed on the Resistance and its social incubator, Hezbollah fighters managed to defeat the Zionist occupation army.
The election victory made by Hezbollah and allies proved that the Resistance supporter always stand by it when the strategic path is challenged, adding that Holy God blesses such sacrifices.
Sayyed Nasrallah started his speech by stressing that marking al-Qud’s Day this year must be special in light of the recent developments related to the US recognition of the holy city as the capital of the Zionist entity.
Sayyed Nasrallah also congratulated the Muslims on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, stressing that it’s a chance to preserve the religious and moral values of each individual.
Resistance and Liberation Day marks the liberation of Lebanon’s south from the Israeli occupation on May 25, 2000. In that month, the Israeli occupation soldiers were forced to withdraw without preconditions, following long years of heroic resistance.
